According to family lore my 2g-grandfather John White claimed he was born when Shreveport incorporated, his parents are unknown. Possible relatives are Solomon Martin, Joe, Alex, Dan, Jeff, and Wash White. Jane Hill married John White and lived around Belcher, parents are unknown. She has one known brother William Hill, and a possible brother Daniel Hill. Other possible relatives are Wade, Squire, Sanford, and Jackson Hill. The Hayes name here come from Willie White being adopted after his father passed away by an uncle named Hayes (first name unknown) and Willie kept the last name of Hayes.

William Hill

Hill, William – abt 1840 -  June 3, 1945 - Caddo Parish, (Jane’s brother)
We have 2 sources for William Hill, the first is my aunt Earnestine who met him at Willie White Hayes funeral in 1936 when she was about 12 yrs old and also visited his home, Willie was William’s nephew making him Jane’s brother, Earnestine remembers him and said he was about 100 yrs old then, second source is my aunt Dorothy who attended his funeral in 1945, Dorothy described him as part Indian which would follow the description of Jane. Both Earnestine & Dorothy say he was well over 100 when he died and that he was Jane’s brother; there is a death certificate for a William Hill that year showing age at 100. My uncle David said he had a son named Harrison, all this was confirmed in the census.
