Salim Yussif Hashim and Farideh Yussif Zacca are named as parents in Rettebeh Hashim's birth christening record and her Social Security Application. Salim is also named as father in Hashim Salim Hashim's draft registration, and his death certificate lists his mother's maiden name as Zacca. Rettebeh's death certificate also lists mother as Zacca and the obituary for Hashim S. Hashim states Rettebeh as his sister. The obituary for Rettebeh names my grandmother Edna and Rhoda Syufy as her nieces and also names my mother Sandra Tyson as her great niece. The Social Security Application for Rhoda Syufy names her parents Anissi Hashim and Lattouf Hanna. This all confirms Jamileh, Rettebeh, Anissi, and Hashim as siblings. The place of residence for Salim Yussif Hashim is listed as Kfarchima on Hashim Salim Hashim's 1917 WW1 draft registration. It is also listed as the birthplace of Rettebeh on her SS application. Kfarchima is a suburb of Beirut in the Baabda District of Mount Lebanon, southeast of Beirut.

The other Hashim brother Ibser is named in the Ellis Island record from 1900 when Salim Hashim brought 3 of his children to the US en route to British Columbia. Named in the Ellis Island record are Jamileh, Batiba, and Isber. I believe that Batiba was Rettebeh, the age is a match. I believe Isber lived with his brother Hashim S. Hashim in Portland, Oregon. There are census, city directories, and the WW1 draft application from a Theodore "Theo" Sam Hashim that have the same address as Hashim S. Hashim. Sam would be the English version of Saleem seen in many records. I'm not sure as none of the records list a family relation to anyone but from the same address listed in the city directories for Theo and Hashim S. Hashim I think this was the brother Isber.

There was also a family of Hashims from Tacoma that are possible relatives, they had a dry goods business called Hashim Bro's, their names are: Sumer Hashim, Said Hashim, Najib Hashim, Aziz Hashim, and a sister Wadia Hashim found in the 1891 Washington census. This family moved to California also, not sure of the connection here. There was also a Joe Hashim in San Bernardino who may be related.  It appears that some of these Hashim's settled in San Bernardino which matches many of Rettebeh & Edna’s old photos showing family gatherings, so there were at least a few other family members here and Hashim S. Hashim died in San Bernardino, I don’t know if they were Hashim or Zacca family. There may also be a connection to the Sleem family from Portland Oregon. MTDNA testing was done to cover my maternal line; Haplogroup X (subclade X2f) is my maternal DNA which goes to Farideh Zacca and her maternal lineage. Hashim History

There's photos from Ethel to Rettebeh and I think Ethel could be one of the young sisters, also there was a Maria Hashim in the 1901 Canada census b1886 so she would've been around 16 at the time and I don't think that's Rettebeh, I would suspect her English name she used was Ruby, that's what we see on most of her pics.
